Don’t drown frozen food to defrost it

Sure it is tempting. You are hungry and the food you would like to cook is frozen. Plus, the hot water is so easily accessible. But DON’T DO IT! Using running water to thaw meat or other frozen foods wastes immeasurable amounts of water. Instead, defrost food overnight in the refrigerator or by using the defrost setting on your microwave.
