Windows are a large source of unwanted heat exchange within the home. During the winter you can lose heat through your windows, and durning the summer about half of the unwanted heat in your home comes through exposed windows. Shading your windows can minimize the amount of heat entering your home during the summer to create a more comfortable environment, while saving your money on your utility bill. Similarly, utilizing thermal drapes during the winter can can act as a layer of insulation in front of your windows, preventing heat from escaping.
