Thirteen new interns began their employment with the SouthCoast Energy Challenge on Valentines Day. Among them were 4 Bridgewater State students: Colin Fontaine, Lucas Fagundes, Adam Ugrinow, and Ian Korslund. They will be attending events throughout the region to educate residents on ways to save money by saving energy. The Southcoast Energy Challenge is a friendly competition among towns with a goal of reducing the energy use in the SouthCoast by 15%. Besides signing up for the Challenge and learning energy-saving actions, residents can be eligible for no-cost home energy assessments. So far 8,300 members are participating in the Challenge; the 13 spring interns have a goal of increasing that number by 3,000 by June first.
