Feeling Empowered to Contribute to My Community and to the Environment via the SouthCoast Energy Challenge!

Greetings SouthCoasters! My name is Andy Erickson. I am the new Community Outreach Coordinator at SEEAL and I feel so privileged to help lead the SouthCoast Energy Challenge. This fantastic energy savings campaign and environmental education initiative is a great tool to help local residents to reduce their carbon footprint and energy usage. Community members who take the Challenge will be able to increase the energy efficiency of their homes and ultimately save money on their utilities. The focus of the SouthCoast Energy Challenge is to provide a range of effective energy saving actions. There are more than 30 actions available so far that participants can pledge to take to reduce energy consumption and live a more sustainable lifestyle. Each action taken will empower participants to promote a “greener community,” while contributing to the preservation of our natural resources and this incredible planet that we inhabit!

I grew up in Dartmouth and have had a lifetime connection to the ocean, forests, wildlife, etc., but have also lived in New York City, Utah, California and even Costa Rica. The SouthCoast is a majestic region that has continually beckoned my return and I could not be any happier to be back here promoting such a righteous cause: The SouthCoast Energy Challenge! I am also pursuing a MBA in Managing for Sustainability through the Marlboro College Graduate School in Brattleboro, VT.
